Life is a whole series of circumstances beyond your control.
In the Beginning ...I was born November 18, 1967, 09:14 EST in Brooklyn, New York to John and Florence Lucas and weighed in at 8 lbs. 12 oz. I lived in Brooklyn until age 4 when we moved to a house in Levittown, Long Island where I grew up.
... and CurrentlyI live in San Francisco, California, in the Castro district near Dolores Park. I consider myself a natural kind of guy, laid-back, casual, fun-loving, caring, and looking for a man to share my life with. I am smoke- and drug-free. A larger photo of me is available. I used to live in Mountain View, California. A few nights a week, I used to hang out at Dana Street Roasting Company. It's the best coffee house ever. I'll miss that place. I've found a new hang-out at Maxfield's House of Caffeine. Kevin, one of the baristas, is cool, friendly, and adorable. I sometimes also go to the Ask a Scientist and Down to a Sciene lectures, SF Games, and the Powerhouse, all in San Francisco. I also like a lot of other stuff.
NoteworthyOn February 1, 1997, I came out to my parents. I'm happy to write that it went very well. It went so well that I decided to share the experience by posting it, including a transcription of my coming-out letter, to the newsgroup ba.motss. I found the book Coming Out to Parents to be very helpful in my overall preparation.
